Sreeram Iyer is a seasoned business leader and banker with 28 years of experience in the industry. Currently serving as the Chief Operating Officer (COO) and Head of Group Capability Centres at a prominent international bank, he demonstrates a unique blend of expertise in banking, spirituality, and technology, coupled with a strong desire for simplicity in his endeavors.

Having obtained valuable insights from prestigious institutions such as MIT Boston, Henley Management College UK, London Business School, and various Directors’ Institutes in Singapore and India, Sreeram has honed his skills and knowledge to navigate the complex landscape of global finance.

Throughout his career, Sreeram has held strategic leadership positions across diverse regions including India, Middle East, Asia, Pacific, Australia, and New Zealand. His extensive experience spans retail, corporate, and institutional banking, providing him with a holistic understanding of financial products and services.

In his role, Sreeram leads global teams dispersed across 25 countries, overseeing operations and driving strategic initiatives to enhance business performance and foster digital transformation. He spearheads the bank’s Group Capability Centre in Manila and India, managing a large workforce of over 10,000 employees.

In a challenging banking environment characterized by low returns, regulatory complexities, and technological disruptions, Sreeram has been instrumental in orchestrating long-term business strategies focused on customer-centricity and operational efficiency. By leveraging innovative technologies and collaborating with fintech partners, he has successfully delivered significant productivity gains and improved returns on equity for the organization.

With a proven track record of executing large-scale technology, digital, and operational transformation projects involving substantial investments, Sreeram has demonstrated his ability to drive impactful change and optimize operational efficiency.

Previously, as the CEO of Scope International, he played a pivotal role in establishing and expanding Standard Chartered’s Global BPO Shared Service Centres in key locations such as India, China, and Malaysia. Additionally, his leadership in M&A transactions has been instrumental in maximizing financial benefits through effective integration and disinvestment strategies.
